Ray Tracer Samples

These images were produced by a ray-tracer that I wrote. For best viewing, use TrueColor display mode.

The following image of a room includes ambient, diffuse and specular lighting effects, reflections, texture mapping, logarithmic overexposure correction similar to gamma correction, and supersampling (nine samples per pixel).

The following image demonstrates results achieved with different specular and Phong lighting coefficients. The Phong lighting exponents used in each row are 3, 5, 10, 27, and 200. The specular lighting coefficients used in each column are, from top to bottom, 0.1, 0.25, and 0.5. This is a reproduction of figure 16.10 found on page 730 of Computer Graphics: Principles and Practice, 2nd Ed., Foley, van Dam, Feiner and Hughes.
